I disagree... JS was just holding his line so has no obligation under 16.1 - remember 16.1 is what you get when you alter course in such a way as not to give another boat sufficient time to keep clear.  JS has no obligation to give RC room to avoid the obstruction... that is RC's problem !  And in a subsequent interview RC freely admits it Smiley

In your example boat A changes course to shut the other boat out... I dont see that same scenario in video... if anything Coutts is the one trying to do all the course changing Smiley
